A lot.For me, at least, it’s much easier to keep my downloaded files cleaned up and organized if I download to my Desktop which I’m constantly looking at then to download to the downloads folder which I don’t pay attention to until it gets too cluttered to find anything. I have two documents folders, one on SSD one on HDD. The default is on SSD. I figure that recently saved ones will be likely to be re-accessed soon, and I'd like good performance. I move old files to the HDD.
My Downloaded Files
Both Documents folders are in the Finder Sidebar, so it's easy to override the default choice.
